Assessment Group A
This group is for our youngest swimmers, designed to assess basic comfort and skills in the water. We will conduct in-water instruction to both teach and evaluate fundamental skills.
Main Objectives
- To ensure comfort and safety in deep water.
- To provide participants with a swim club environment.
- To assess basic aquatic skills, including floating and unassisted swimming.
Criteria
- Age: 5 to 8 Years as of March 15th
- Ability: Swimmers must be comfortable in deep water, able to swim with their face in the water, and capable of completing a minimum of 25 meters unassisted. (This is equivalent to successful completion of Royal Life Swimmer 3.)
What to Bring
Swimmers need to bring their own goggles and swimwear.
Schedule
We ask that all swimmers arrive approximately 15-minutes prior to the start of the session to check-in with an Olympians Swimming Ambassador and to change and be ready to meet the coaches on the pool deck prior to the session start. The session is 30 minutes, including time on-deck with introductions, swimming time, and conclusion. There will be about 20-minutes of water time.
Registration
All registration and payment must be completed online through the Olympians Swimming website prior to the session. Spaces are limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis. No registrations or payments will be accepted at the pool.
All participants must meet the minimum safety standards required for this assessment. These standards are in place to ensure the safety of all participants and include:
- The swimmer is comfortable and safe in deep water
- The swimmer is able to swim with their face in the water.
- The swimmer can complete a minimum of 25 meters of swimming unassisted.
Assessment
After the assessment, you will receive an email with the results and Olympians Swimming registration information. Please allow up to 48 hours for our team to complete the required paperwork. Note that successfully completing the assessment does not guarantee a spot in the club.
